Europe 2014 Begins
Paris is the launching point for this years trip and what a beautiful city it is. Most of the crew flew in a couple of days early — some were delayed and some luggage is still unaccounted for — to take in some of the beautiful sites that Paris has to offer.
The weather more or less cooperated with us as we made our way around the city, checking out places like; L'Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and the Tour d'Eiffel. The greyer mornings provided the opportune time visit some of the museums like Le louvre, Musse d'Orsay and the Pompidou. Some even got the opportunity to checkout the famous Moulin Rouge while others took advantage of some of the sales around to do a little shopping.
Friday marked the offical start to the trip with a group dinner Paris style. PJ led the YES on an adventure through the Paris Metro before having to sprint to the quai and hop onto the Bateau Mouche before it sailed off down the Seine. (we made it with 2 minutes to spare!) Dinner was lovely and the lights of Paris beautiful as we gently floated along. We even had a special guest join us as Angela made the trip down from Luxembourg. As is accustomed, much laughter could be heard and we even managed to re-locate one poor lady to a quieter side of the boat.
The real adventure starts tomorrow as we jump on the TGV to Zurich where we pick up the remaining stragglers before busing down to Zurs. Stay tuned as it should be a fun trip.
