Jon Tweedlie- YES Graduate
/0 Comments/in Blog/by YES AdminIt's been roughly four seasons since I completed the 'YES' Instructor course. Since then, I have gone on to forge a career for myself within Snowsports through Whistler Blackcomb.
I joined the YES – 11 week Snowboard Instructor course in 2013. During the course I gain my CASI Levels 1 and 2, along with the Avalanche Safety Training, AST Level 1. My riding improved so much during those 11 weeks thanks to the high standard of training I received from the YES snowboard coaches. Jaron was one of those coaches and to this day we still find time to ride together!
Since then, I have worked for Whistler Blackcomb snowboard school and continued my training towards the Level 3. This season I sat the exam for the CASI level 3 and successfully passed! I was also awarded Instructor of the Year 2016/17 from Whistler Blackcomb. Needless to say its been an incredible season.
Surreal. This is the word I use when looking back on my time with the YES Crew, making friends with people from all over the globe through my passion of playing in the mountains.
This same passion is shared by all of the 'YES' team who make you feel like family from the moment you arrive!
Do it, you won't regret it!
Jon Tweedlie
FROM YES – Its been such a cool ride watching Jon's progession in his snowboarding and as a coach. We're lucky enough to have Jon help at our YES guiding days some weeks through out the season. We wish Jon all the best with his career goals… who knows… maybe Jon will be the first ever snowboarder graduate to become a YES full time coach! Cheers Belinda

Magic March

Whistler Blackcomb, March 2017
Another sell out season!!
/0 Comments/in Blog/by YES AdminWow! Thats another sell out season with YES. November, January and February courses all sold out for the Instructor course and the Improvement program accommodations have been sold out for months. I'm struggling to book hotel options in Whistler for our clients.
So here is my suggestion – Book early! The days of last minute bookings are no longer and really just cause you more stress and headaches in the long run.
If you're looking to book for 2017/2018 season, don't wait. Pay your $500 deposit now and start counting down the days until you get to shred the deep Whistler powder!
